Despite a number of events on this weekend, all roads are expected to lead to the Bush Lot United Turf Club tomorrow for that entity’s one day Horserace meet at the club’s entity, Sea View Park, Bush Lot Village, West Coast Berbice.
Thousands are expected to throng to the venue for their first meet of the year which has so far seen over 60 horses entered.
The eight races meet has a total prize package of over $7 M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for the takings. According to Coordinator Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo all preparatory works have been completed. Extensive work was done on the track, which was dug up filled, graded and rolled.
He promised racing fans a full and action packed day of racing with most of the country’s top horses entered to compete.
Among the growing list of sponsors are Banks DIH Limited, Buddy Shivraj, Jumbo Jet, Inshan Bacchus Trucking Service, Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo, Steve Jewelry World and Friends, Shariff Business Enterprise, Arjune Singh and Rohan Oudit, Phaghoo General Store of Bush Lot, and Businessman Shamkumar Chattergoon.
The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘D’ and lower with the animals set to cover a distance of 1400M. The winner is set to take home a whopping $1.M and trophy.
The other events are for F and lower horse over 1400M event for a winning purse of $500,000 and trophy, the three Year old 1200M event will see West Indies bred animals battle for a first prize of $400,000 and trophy, the two year old West Indies Bred horses will gallop for $400,000 and trophy over 1000M.
The G3 and lower 1200M event has a winning purse of the $300,000 and trophy, the ‘I’ and lower event is another 1200M affair for a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy, the J, class match up will see the winner pocketing $200,000 and trophy over 1400M. The final race is the unclassified 1200M race for a winner’s take of $150,000 and trophy.
Among some of the horses entered are: Mission King, Swing Easy, Settle In Seattle, California Strike, the Message, Unsettled, City Tune, Jack is My Style, Fresh Again, Cat Messiah, War Craft, Work Force, Red and Lovely , Africanist, Princess Alicia, and Release the Beast, Settling Jet, Rosetta, Weekend Surprise , Sweet Return, Traditional man; Storm Bird, Ameera’s Joy; Compador, Perfect Circle , Goodwill Boy, Time to dance, Isabella; Young Elite Secret Escape, Mansoon, Bridal Stone Corner, Savion, De Gump, Million Dollar Man, Gold Majesty, Red Jet, Easy to win and Affinity are among those expected to go.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies and other incentives.
