The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) Anti-Suicide Programme which is run by the club’s cricket teams received a shot in the arm when one of the entity’s official sponsors, Gizmos and Gadgets presented a laptop computer to aid in the effectiveness of the programme.
The campaign to date has included TV programmes, posters, banners, lectures, counseling sessions and educational competitions including essays and public speaking.
Donations of educational and sports materials have also been made to numerous schools and sports organisations in an effort to get youths to Say No To Drugs and Suicide and Yes To Life and an Educational foundation.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster at the presentation ceremony hosted at the club’s Area ‘H’ Ground office, expressed gratitude to Mr. Ravi Mangar, CEO of Gizmos and Gadgets for his continued investment in the club and its various programmes.
Foster noted that out of their annual 200plus programmes and activities, the Anti-Suicide Programme was one of its most cherished as it was about saving lives and giving youths a second chance.
Under this programme over the past six months, the cricket teams have been able to make direct impact on over 3000 youths. Foster noted that the laptop would be used to prepare leaflets and magazines for counseling sessions.
Marketing Manager of Gizmos and Gadgets Ms. Divya Sievdarsan stated that her company was pleased to be associated with Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation and noted that the club has represented the company’s brand well over the years.
