What is shaping up to be one of the biggest and potentially the most competitive body building show in Guyana is set for Saturday August 2nd at the Theatre Guild, Kingston. It will be the Guyana Amateur Body Building and Fitness Federation Senior championships, the federation’s marquee event.
All the big guns including reigning Mr. Guyana Kerwyn Clarke will be on stage as will the reigning Mr. Suriname Soepe Kose who has been contracted by the GABBFF as the Guest poser.
Kose is no stranger to Guyana as he thrilled the audience when he won the Mr. Flex Night title in December 2012. He also placed 3rd at the Arnold Classic earlier this year and has promised that he will be putting on a mind blowing performance for the fans on the night of August 2, 2014.
Corporate support for the seniors has already started to flow with faithful partner Fitness Express, specialists in health and fitness products on board yet again as the main sponsor of the championships.
Manager/Owner Jamie Mc Donald yesterday presented a cheque to Treasurer of the GABBFF Merissa Sookram which confirmed and sealed the deal as the main sponsor of the Fitness Express/GABBFF Senior Body Building Championships.
Mc Donald in brief remarks thanked the federation for allowing his entity to once again be a part of the sport as the main sponsor. He said that the sport has come a long way on the path to returning to the glory days when it enjoyed huge fan support.
“I know the athletes have been doing a fantastic job in getting their bodies in shape and we would like to play our role in encouraging them to aim high. We have been partnering with the GABBFF for some years now and will continue to do so since as a company, it is part of our mandate to assist.”
Sookram in response complimented Mc Donald for their unwavering support which she assured has contributed over the years to the upward climb of body building in Guyana. Athletes are in the height of their preparations and will soon go into the final phase ahead of ShowTime.
