Guyana born “Rising Star,” contestant, Lisa Punch is scheduled to take the stage again tonight, to participate in a duel against fellow singer, Alice Lee.
Lee is a native of Chicago, who holds a degree in Music and Business from the University of New York. She earned 73% of the votes during the last round of the competition.
Punch made her debut on ABC’s new reality television series, “Rising Star,” two weeks ago. She managed to raise the wall at the first episode of the competition with the support of fellow Guyanese and thousands of viewers from across the United States.
The Brooklyn based singer’s bubbly personality and charismatic performance were enough to capture the hearts of viewers and the votes of country music superstar Brad Paisley; music sensation Kesha; and hip hop artist and actor Ludacris, who served as an expert panel of the show.
She gained an altogether 80% mark of viewers’ votes as she belted out the lyrics of Whitney Houston’s popular single “How Will I know?”
The singer, who migrated to the United States in December last year, was named among the show’s top 30 finalists selected from 40,000 contestants, who applied to participate in the new ABC hit series.
Punch says she hopes to top the charts someday and help her family out. The Guyana born Singer is no stranger to the stage. She was the first and only winner of the local talent contest, “Star Guyana” and has a number of songs that were written and recorded locally.
Punch has invited viewers to vote via her official fan page by downloading the Rising Star app. Viewers can tune in to ABC at 21: 00 hours to watch and vote.
In order to be able to vote, you must first download the Rising Star app, check in to vote for Lisa Punch when prompted, and swipe right for YES! You must vote while she is performing.
Viewers outside of the US would need to change the “account location” on their device to participate in the voting process.
To do this open App store, click on feature ( bottom left corner), scroll down to the bottom and select your Apple ID, choose view Account ( or View Apple ID), Change country/location to US, add a state and zip code and you are then able to download and register to vote.
