Do you remember playing as a child – running, laughing and jumping with no worries in the world except when it’s time to go home? Playing is critical for young children and it’s the only job they have as children.
The GAIL Foundation is committed to Giving Abundantly In Life to help children in need. With your support, we can continue our mission of donating playground equipment and educational tools to displaced children.
That’s the Mission Station of the Gail Foundation a Florida based Charity Organization that is dedicated to build and furnish playground equipment to orphanages, Special Needs Schools and other needy organizations in Guyana.
Orphans are the most vulnerable, needy and most often overlooked in Society, particularly in Guyana.
We can read daily in Guyana how various companies donate to cricket, football and other sports, but ask yourself when was the last time you read that these local companies that donate millions of dollars to sport donate any money or equipment to orphanages or other organizations that cater for under-privileged children. The only organization that comes to mind is Digicel that built a hoime for the under-privileged on the East Coast Demerara.
The GAIL FOUNDATION, over the years, has furnished the Red Cross Children’s Toddlers room with walkers, toys, educational materials and playing equipment. The Organization has also furnished a play room for kids at the Promise of Eden Orphanage in New Amsterdam as well as building playground equipment such as swingers, slides, seesaw etc. valued over US$4000.
Last year the Organization completed a US$8,000 project for the New Amsterdam Special Needs School at Vryman’s Erven. That project included completely furnishing a library with bookshelves and books, a laptop computer, a projector and screens, and a fully furnished playground, swingers, slides etc.
Could you imagine a school for under privileged children without playing facilities? That has been going on for years, but none of the “big” companies ever saw it fit to assist.
The Gail Foundation, www.gailfoundation.org is a non profit 501(c) (3) IRS REGISTERED Organization. This means it has to submit a statement to the Inland Revenue Service in the US annually. It means that persons who donate in the US can get a tax credit on their Income Taxes.
Angoy’s Avenue Playfield in Berbice is a community ground for over 500 children. We are seeking donations to assist in writing a grant to develop this playfield by building a cricket field, volleyball area, pavilion and kiddies’ corner with swings, slides, monkey bars and sea-saws – (US$2000.00).
It should be noted that the Foundation is very transparent. All monies received and expenditures are posted online at www.gailfoundation.org where readers can view past projects and financial statements. The Foundations has no administrative expenses.
This Friday, the foundation is holding a fund-raising event themed CASINO NIGHT. It is being held in Orlando at the Quality Inn Conference Center, 151 N Douglas Avenue, Altamonte, Florida, 32714.Those attending can enjoy poker, black jack, roulette and slots. There are over US$2000 IN PRIZES TO BE WON. By way of disclosure I am also involved in this project and I travel to Guyana at my personal expense to help implement these projects.
So you my readers, I am appealing to you to go to the www.gailfoundtion.org website and make a donation today to help under-privileged children in Guyana. Surprisingly, most of the donations from previous projects were made by non Guyanese who probably heard of Guyana.
