Soesdyke and Supply were among the victorious teams when the inaugural Schools Circle Tennis programme commenced recently. Soesdyke overcame Timehri in their encounter. Timehri mustered 53 off their allocation of 30 deliveries at Timehri Red ground. Soesdyke replied with 60.
Soesdyke went down to Supply; Soesdyke took first strike and managed 84 with Tyrel Khan scoring 24. Supply responded with 94. Joseph De Cunha hit 35 and Eli Allicock 31.
At No. 71 Village, Massiah got the better of Number 48. Massiah posted 104, Davindra Rharaspaul led with 28, Venode James 25 and Haresh Ramlachan 21. Number 48 were restricted to 73 in reply. Joshua Chatterprashad and Weston Johnson were their leading batters with 16 and 15 respectively.
At Uitvlugt, Tuschen thumped the home team by 15 runs. Uitvlugt scored 70; Chris Smith stroked 42 and Collis Clarke 26. Uitvlugt were limited to 55 in their turn. Wazim Khadir struck 20.
At Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Albion whacked Auchlyne. Auchlyne batted first and chalked up 66, Lacchan Samaroo top scored with 48. Albion replied with 70. Tolaram Singh smashed 55.
Alness beat Kildonan who scored 64 with Baldeo Chandan scoring 58. Alness responded with 67, Prem Kanhai led with 55.
Mc Gowan defeated Alness – Mc Gowan piled up 86 taking first strike; Glefron Gray scoring 27, Jason Leitch 23 and Lashanda Punch 14. Alness could only muster 56 in reply.
In the Secondary Schools category, Central Corentyne triumphed over Winifred Gaskin Memorial. Central Corentyne rattled up 69 after taking first knock. Shenetta Grimmond scored 38 and Tifanny Moore 20.
Winifred Gaskin Memorial fell short as they could only muster 66 in reply with Showanna Castello getting 28. Port Mourant went down to Central Corentyne; Port Mourant took first strike and posted 76, Meressa Paul stroked 24, Aleema Arokium 22 and Erica Lashley 15.
Central Corentyne eased to 80-1 led by Shenetta Grimmond who slammed 51, Carlotta Maxwell supported with 16.
