A Diamond Public Road resident was yesterday freed from a wounding charge after the victim whose head was completely bandaged, came forth in the city court and stated that he wished not to proceed with the matter against him.
Rodrick Robertson, 33, and Mervin Harry appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty to face charges that stemmed from an altercation between the two.
Robertson was charged for unlawfully and maliciously wounding Harvey with intent to maim, disable, disfigure or harm him. Harvey was accused of assaulting Robertson. The incident occurred on June 27, last, on the Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Both men pleaded not guilty but asked not to proceed against each other. Their requests were granted and the matter was dismissed against both men.
