Popular Horse owner and promoter Colin Elcock has indicated that the race meet set for this Sunday, July 13, has been organised by the Alness Race Track and not by him and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) as was indicated in an earlier publication.
Elcock, who has been long associated and named the legal guardian of the track, dissociated himself and another legal representative Bobby Vaughn from the meeting.
He stated that himself and Bobby Vaughn are two of the legal representatives of the facility and as far as they are concerned the RCMTC&SF is not organizing any event on the day and the organizers should not be using the RCMTC&SF’s name. They do not want to be held responsible for the race meet.
In the meantime the organizers of the meet have sent a modified programme with the feature race now being for animals classified D3 non winners and E and lower.
The modified programme which has been once again signed by Marcel Crawford Junior reads – D 3 none winners for 2014 and E and lower over 1700M with a first prize of $500,000.
The G and lower event over 1400M with a first prize of $300,000 and trophy.
The ‘I1 and lower1400M event for a $250,000 winner’s money and trophy, the animals in the ‘J1’ class event will be competing for $180,000 winners money over 1200M.
There is a race for J3 and lower horses which will see them running over 1000M for a winning take of 150,000. Another J3 and lower event this time for maiden animals (which never won a race) is over 1000M for a purse of $140,000 and trophy.
The final event on the programme is for K class horses for a winners money of $150,000 over 1000M.
Outstanding individual performers including top jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with accolades compliments of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the organizers.
