The Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) has begun preparations to host their first Race Meet for the year. The grand one-day event is slated for Sunday July 20 at the club’s Sea View Park, Bush Lot Village, West Coast Berbice, Race Track.
Eight races are listed on the programme with over $7M in cash and prizes up for grabs.
Ongoing sprucing up work is presently being undertaken at the venue which has made a surge in its horseracing activities over the past year.
The main races are listed for D, G, and the three and two year old horses. The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘D’ and lower with the animals set to cover a distance of 1400M. The winner will take away $1M and trophy.
The race for horses classified F and lower will be a 1400M affair with the animals running for a winning purse of $500,000 and trophy.
The three Year old West Indies bred animals have a first prize of $400,000 and trophy over 1200M. The event for two year old West Indies Bred horses will see the winner also cashing in on $400,000 and trophy over five furlongs.
There is the event for horses classified G3 and lower with the top notch field expected to compete for the $300,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The ‘I’ and lower event is another 1200M affair for a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy; ‘J’ class race will see the winner pocketing $200,000 and trophy over 1400M.
The final event is for unclassified animals battling over 1200M for a winner’s take of $150,000.
Among the sponsors so far are Banks DIH, Buddy Shivraj, Jumbo Jet, The Trophy Stall, Bacchus, and Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo, Steve Jewelry World, Shariff Business Establishment & Racing Stable, Phaghoo General Store of Bush Lot and Business Shamkumar Chattergoon.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of The Trophy Stall and the organisers.
