With a seeming break in the inclement weather all is now set for the previously postponed and much
anticipated Rising Sun Turf Club/ Inshan Bacchus ‘Hard Runnings’ Trucking Service grand one day horserace meet today at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park West Coast Berbice.
The meet, which was scheduled for last Sunday, was pushed back due to the inclement weather. With the extra week, a number of additional horses have entered to take the total entries to over 70. With over $8M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs, all of the top stables are making full preparations for the sizzling day of horserace action anticipated.
A number of sponsors have also taken the opportunity to finalise their arrangements for the big meet. The latest to do so was Fazal Haibulla representing the Rising Sun Cattle Ranch, Chester Fried Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice and Hablaw Meat Centre of Georgetown. Habibulla is also a co-organizer of the event.
Most of the events have a full compliment of horses with the race for animals classified D1 and lower with a profitable first prize of $1M and trophy up for the taking over 1500M being the feature encounter. A full gate has been assembled for this event with the likes of Treacle, Swing Easy, City Tune, Run Nana Run, CP Got Even, Milwaukee Blitz, Jack is My Style, Red and Lovely, Africanist and Goodwill Boy in the running.
There is a rich collection of horses lined up for the rest of events with horses such as – Fresh Again, Savion, Shooting Star, Cat Messiah, Royal Empire, Unsettled, Easy To Win, Iron Man, Mary Ann, Ameera’s Joy, Church House, War Craft, Damascus Dream, Release the Beast, Today is my Day, Quiet Dancer, Goodwill Boy ,It’s my Turn, Appealing Harvest, Captain Crook ,Rosetta, Another Jet, Settling Jet and Bridal Stone Corner, Silent Night, It’s My choice, Fairy Landing, She So Special, I want Revenge, De Gump, Keep On Swinging, Smarty Light, Affinity, Windy Killer, Prince Bayaya, Princess Alisha, Today is My Day, Famous Pride, Royal Cash, Little and Happy Choice competing for the lucrative stakes on offer.
Anwar Trucking Service has joined the growing list of major sponsors which includes Trophy Stall, Banks DIH Limited, Mohammed “Nankoo” Shariff, Inshan Bacchus Business Enterprise, Chester Fried Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice, Rising Sun Cattle Ranch, Hablaw Meat Centre and Jumbo Jet Business Establishment.
The other events are the co-feature race for three-year-old Guyana and West Indies – bred animals which will fetch a winner’s take of $600,000 and trophy over 1400M.
There is a race for animals classified F1 and Lower also 1400M with the winner set to take home $500,000and trophy.
The G3 and Lower event is once again expected to be competitive as the animals will race over 1000M for a winning take of $400,000 and trophy. The H1 and Lower horses will run for a top prize of $400,000 and trophy also over 1000M.
There is the introduction of the Two-year-old Guyana and West Indian- bred horses for this year and they will compete over 600M for a first prize of $300,000 and trophy.
Horses running in the I1 and Lower 1000M race will race for a first prize of $250,000 and trophy. The final event for the day is for animals classified J and Lower for a winners money of $200,000 over 1000M.
Top individual performers including top jockey, trainer and stable will receive incentives compliments of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organizers.
