Rafman Ali softball tournament continued on Sunday.
Playing at Everest in the Open category, Chinapen and fellow opener Chris Sukram laid the foundation for a challenging total with a first wicket stand of 83 before Sukram was dismissed for 28. Chinapen cracked seven fours and twelve sixes in scoring 110 while Pooran John chipped in with 24 as Trophy Stall B posted 205-7 off their allotted 15 overs, batting first.
Navindra Kublall claimed 3-28. Amrol and Sons threatened somewhat before they were bowled out for 170 in 14.5 overs in response. Kennard George top scored with 62 (3×4 8×6) and Wazim Sundar made 41 (6×6).
Trophy Stall B overcame Farm by four wickets in their match up. Farm took first strike and were restricted for 99-9 after the game was reduced to 12 overs due to a late start. Avinash Rooplall scored 32; Vishnu Gewan snared 3-15 and Pooran John 3-18. Trophy Stall B responded with 100-6 in 10.5 overs. Chinapen made 35 as Patrick Khan captured 4-16. Amrol and Sons gained a walk over from Accomplishments.
Farm beat Jaguars by nine wickets in another match. Jaguar took first turn at the crease and were bowled out for 101 in 13 overs. Patrick Khan grabbed 3-20 and Ravindra Sarabjeet 2-28. Farm replied with 103-1 in 10.1 overs. Ameer Khan smashed 61 (4×4 5×6) and Wazim Yusuf 25.
In the Over-40 division, Park Rangers got the better of Uitvlugt by 115 runs. Park Rangers managed 197-8 off their allocation of 20 overs, taking first knock. Danny Mohanram slammed 68 as Ravi Narine picked up 3-45. Uitvlugt were sent packing for 82 in 14.1 overs in reply. Greg De Franca grabbed 4-21 and Dharam Persaud 2-18.
Parika Defenders went down to Frontline by seven wickets. Parika Defenders scored 171-5 in 20 overs, batting first. Kabesh Persaud top scored with 59, while Hakim Mohamed made 28 and Kenrick Persaud 18. Frontline reached their target in 19.5 overs ending on 174-3. Ramo Malone led with 89, while Patrick Khan contributed 24 and Dennis Mangroo 21.
At Better Hope, KK Warrior thumped Grand Coastal by seven wickets. Grand Coastal were sent packing for 83 in 11.1 overs. S. Seeraj captured 3-27, K. Chung 2-22 and K. Singh 2-26. KK Warriors responded with 87-3 in 7.3 overs with Seeraj scoring 30 not out.
KK Warriors were again in winners’ lane when they thumped Friendship by 129 runs. Chris Deonarine top scored with 54 and got support from N. Khan 51 as KK Warriors scored 199 all out in 15 overs, batting first. A. Ramnarine took 3-45.
Friendship were skittled for 70 in reply. K. Singh picked up 4-20, N. Khan 3-21 and k. Chung 2-11.
