Imran Khan took the first prize with a net 67 score in last Saturday’s Scotiabank Golf tournament which saw the bank donate $325,000 to the top three golfers which will be donated to charities of their choice.
The tournament, of such generous contributions from a partner of 17 years with the Lusignan Golf Club, attracted 55 golfers.
Khan has now won this tournament 3 times, first in 1999, 2008, and now in 2014, making him the keeper of the lien trophy. Second placed Haresh Tiwari edged out Roy Cummings after having a better last nine holes with a net 68, fourth place went to Dr. Philbert London who ended the day on net 69.
Best Gross also went to Imran Khan for a superb 76; closest to the pin was new comer Andrew Budhan, Longest putt was awarded to Dave Mohamad. Best Female player of the day was Joaan Deo.
President of the Lusignan Golf Club Dave Mohamad expressed gratitude to the sponsor for such a wonderful tournament and for the long term commitment to the club. “Giving back to the less fortunate is always a good gesture and doing so through the sport is even better, we hope to see more of this in the future not only in golf but sports in general.” He also said he was very thankful for senior officials from the bank being present for the event.
Natasha Hamilton Senior Manager for Commercial Banking, said, she was very pleased with the turnout and support for the tournament with 50 plus golfers competing. Miss Hamilton also stated that she and Marketing Manager Jennifer Cipriani, who was also present, will be ready to take part in the next tournament.
On this weekend is a Club tournament with prizes up for grabs while the Warstila sponsored competition is set for the following weekend.
