Dear Editor,
I was very impressed with the in-depth analysis that was presented by the GCB on the Cricket Bill which the GOG is trying to force down the throat of those administrators. The document was easy to follow and logical in its analyses.
Cricket is our national sport and, if what the GCB says is accurate that GOG gives them no money for the administration of their game, how can they want to interfere with the internal affairs of a legal autonomous body which is affiliated to and bound by the Rules and Regulations of Regional and International bodies?
The GOG should be utterly ashamed to be barking up a tree trying to fight the battle of a few misguided former administrators who are upset since they did not get re-elected to the Board. Those individuals have succeeded in throwing our cricket in the total chaos that it has been in for the past few years. They were represented by the Attorney General prior to his appointment. He lost all the cases that he brought or defended against the Boards that he challenged and should be ashamed to be using the State and taxpayers resources now to fight his friends’ battles. He is leading the entire GOG down a very treacherous path of doom.
This dangerous group of former administrators has planned this debacle very well and has successfully duped the politicians to follow their agenda blindly. They are now boasting that they control both the PPP & APNU since the members of their group have influences in both parties and they know what buttons to push to get these gullible politicians to do their bidding.
We cannot doubt them since they have both State media, the Chronicle and the Times publishing everything they want through their control and manipulation of the PPP friends from one section of the dangerous former administrators grouping. Whilst the other section of the group was able to influence APNU to support the Bill. I can bet that 99% of the MPs that voted for the Bill never actually read the Bill.
Their group is broad based with friends in both major parties. The sooner these supposedly seasoned politicians realize how they have been manipulated by this group and in the process orchestrated their own downfall, the faster they will cut and run. This is the most lopsided piece of legislation that I have ever laid my eyes on. How can a Parliament seek to legislate constitutions for autonomous bodies and seize the assets of that body in one fell swoop?
This is absolutely outrageous! This would be the death of the PPP if they continue to bury their head in the sand with their usual stubborn attitude. We all know they are control freaks and they are now in control of their own destiny. They lost a few seats in the 2011 elections; this will guarantee they lose at least another 2 or 3 seats in the next one. I guess that is why they are scared to call local government elections. If they are trying to clean up their act, they are doing a lousy job of that and they need professional advice or possibly counseling.
