For the procurement of stationery, dietary and miscellaneous supplies for the Guyana Prison Service (GPS), cabinet has granted its no-objection to a contract worth $435M.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon said it normally costs less than $1000 to feed a prisoner per day.
The Guyana Prison Service, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, received bids February last for the procurement of stationery, dietary and miscellaneous supplies. The bids were divided into 12 lots.
