In some countries when World Cup football playing people does stop wukking. Guyana slightly different. De people don’t wuk most times and when football playing dem does give people wuk. Dem does mess up de place and City Hall got to pay people to clean it up. But de garbage does pile up more because de people at City Hall don’t wuk when football playing.
Some people done gone to Brazil and others planning to go because dem got de money and dem don’t wuk anyhow. Dem boys see some of dem pun de plane Saturday. One was Jagdeo, and dem boys sure that he probably going to Brazil. He fly to the States and dem boys sure that he got a connecting flight.
De Waterfalls boss man and Uncle Tony was flying out to de States. De boss man nearly drop down when he raise he head and he see de arch enemy, Jagdeo, come pun de same plane.
When people go pun a plane dem does see people dem know and dem does exchange greetings. De boss man see Jagdeo come in and sit down and nobody ain’t seh nutten to he, suh he sit down like he ain’t got owner.
At one stage he look like if he was going to walk to see who he know but when he and de boss man eye mek four, he sit down like when a li’l child do something wrang and he parent just give he de eye. De man sit down till dem meet de States.
Was a time when de man would get security from de time he land and he would get escort off de plane. This time he had to walk off like everybody else. Dem boys was waiting to see wha he declare but he didn’t have nutten because he got a big credit card. De only thing that de Customs see was de plug that he get de last time he fly wid a private jet to Miami when he did sick.
But de boss man had to get search because he carry fish like if dem ain’t got non fish in de States. De Customs people inspect de fish because as de Customs man seh, Guyana got a way of hiding things in fish. Jagdeo smile when de Customs check de boss man.
One of de Customs people tell de boss man that Jagdeo does travel steady—every week. He like to fly and right now de people who does mek plane mekking some wings fuh he. This is a man who does get bored when he stay in Guyana. Donald did seh that he coulda use de man but he can’t find he when he want him.
But that is wha people does do when dem got more money than dem need. Dem does try fuh spend it. Jagdeo don’t drink and he don’t smoke. He don’t even give away any, suh he does fly but then again dem boys want to know if he does pay fuh he plane ticket.
Talk half and wait to see if Jagdeo guh fly to Brazil.
