East La Penitence teen shot during argument

A heated argument between two men has left a 19-year- old East La Penitence teen nursing a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Injured is Kellon Hinds of Lot 465 East La Penitence, Georgetown.
According to reports, Hinds and another man were seen arguing shortly after 22:00hrs on Friday at “War Lock”, East Ruimveldt. Kaieteur News was told that several persons in the area tried to quell the argument, but the two men persisted.
This publication understands that the suspect whipped out a handgun and fired two shots in the direction of Hinds, hitting him. He was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
However, Hinds has reportedly told investigators that he was robbed. One police source said that Hinds is claiming that he was robbed of a gold chain, among other items. The source explained that Hinds, who was recently deported from French Guiana, may not be telling the whole truth about the incident.
The police source said that they would continue to pursue the matter in an effort to identify the shooter.
