As an initiative geared towards the development of young Guyanese cricketers, the Management of the Guyana Amazon Warriors Team has decided to include six Under-19 players in the team for the Preparation Camp and to a be part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors Team for their home games.
The preparation camp is scheduled for July 1 – 8, 2014 and Guyana’s home games are 17th, 19th and 20th of July, respectively. The Under-19 players will be involved in all training sessions and other team activities during the Guyana Amazon Warriors team camp and match practice schedule when the team is in Guyana for their home games.
The players selected are Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Kemo Paul, Daniel Basdeo, Kevin Paul, Shimron Hetmeyer and Akshay Persaud.
It is also important to highlight the fact that the Guyana Amazon Warriors Team Management would make every effort to ensure that the Under -19 players interact with the International players, Mohamed Hafeez, Corey Anderson, Martin Guptill and Sunil Narine as well as Team Mentor Sir Curtly Ambrose and Head Coach Roger Harper.
