The attempt by certain members of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) General Council to takeover the reins of leadership of the Local Governing Body seems to be exploding before their very eyes with quite a few officials of the Georgetown Football Association and clubs expressing disagreement and in some cases distancing themselves from the illegal action.
Yesterday President of the Fruta Conquerors Football Club Wayne Forde, Assistant Secretary /Treasurer of the GFA Charmine Wade and Vice-President (Administration) of the GFA Lavern Fraser, all dispatched releases via e-mail indicating their disassociation with the latest move made by certain members to dislodge the legitimately elected GFF President from office after just over one year.
Below are the releases made by the three officials –
I wish to state categorically that Fruta Conquerors Football Club is in complete disagreement with the action taken by the disgruntled associations. I believe that the action of these misguided individuals have further tarnished the image of the sport at a time when it can least afford such irreversible damage. I do believe that FIFA will have the final say in this matter, however in the meanwhile the members of the GFA needs to hold the President and the Secretary accountable.
Regards,
Wayne Forde
On Sun June 1st, 2014 I read an article in the KN RE: ‘GFF General Council successfully moves no confidence motion against Matthias’.
Please be informed that as the duly elected assistant secretary/treasurer of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) I am not and has not been apart of ANY decisions, or had ANY discussions on this issue of the GFF’s Congress, the motion of No Confidence against the GFF’s Executives, etc, at the level of the executive of the GFA.
As far as I’m aware, unless I wasn’t invited, there was never a meeting of the GFA Executive and or general council to discuss this issue.
Further, I had no knowledge of the alleged reconvening of ‘Congress’ and to date, have not been informed/notified by the President, General Secretary or any other executives of the GFA.
Ms. Charmine Wade
Asst. Sect. /Treasurer
Georgetown Football Association
In my capacity as VP Admin of the GFA I would like to state that the support for a no confidence vote against the President of the GFF was not discussed at the Executive level of the GFA. As such I would like to distance myself in this capacity from this support for this motion as is taken by the President and General Secretary of the GFA.
