Alvin Fredericks, whose 16 year-old daughter, Benita Fredericks, didn’t return to her Onderneeming residence since Thursday, after she had left for School earlier that day, wants senior members of the Child Protection Agency to help him.
He also wants officials aligned to the Welfare Department in Georgetown to address this serious issue.
Benita Fredericks is a student of the Abrams Zuil Secondary School. She is believed to be in the company of a man.
The court had implicated the Riverstown man for rape of the 16-year-old back in 2012. That matter is currently for trial in the Suddie High court.
The police now say that the man in whose custody the teenager is believed to be, is currently tampering with the witness. However, police in the Region have told Fredericks that there is little or nothing they can do to arrest the accused and have his daughter returned to him since she is now 16.
When contacted, a senior member of the Child Protection Agency, in Georgetown said that the police can arrest the accused since he has a pending matter for rape in the high court. Additionally the accused is tampering with the witness.
A despondent Fredericks said that on Thursday before his daughter left for school he give her a $500 note. The distraught father of two said he even assisted his daughter to collaborate a pledge, which his daughter submitted to her School teacher.
Fredericks added that after school had dismissed and he didn’t notice his daughter return home, he contacted one of her friends who informed him that she only saw Benita during the morning period but didn’t see her for the remainder of the day.
The friend added that Benita’s school bag was subsequently lodged with the school guard.
Fredericks proceeded to call one of his daughter’s teachers who spoke of seeing Benita only during the morning session. Fredericks then proceeded to lodge a missing person’s report with the police at Anna Regina Police station.
While at the station, Fredericks said that he received a phone call from the accused, who brazenly informed him that Benita was with him. Fredericks said the man has destroyed his family’s life and the police are not doing anything to assist.
The 16-year-old had previously absconded on May 16 last. The police had recovered her in the upper flat of the man’s Riverstown sand house.
