All Roads will lead to the Mackenzie Sports Club’s Hard Court this evening where Berbice will be aiming for their first victory in Linden’s backyard in the feature game of the Guyana Basketball Federation (GABF) Inter-Association Basketball series.
The Berbicians will create historic tonight when they journey to Region 10 since this is the first visit by a Basketball team from Guyana’s second largest County to play against Linden in the Mining town.
Linden are the defending Champions in the Guyana Regional Basketball Championships and will be led by National players Dwayne Roberts and Shane Webster. Keon Cameron and former Guyana U-19 player, 22-year-old Chris Williams are also in the strong Linden unit.
The Berbice team’s fortunes will hinge around Randy Richardson, who toured with the National team to the Bahamas in 2011, the experienced National Trials Squad invitee Carlos Crandon and the promising Keron Emanuel.
The supporting games will see Georgetown Women coming up against their Linden counterparts and the youth clash which brings together the Berbice under-19 against the Linden under-19 line-up. Jump Ball time is scheduled for 19:00hrs in the opening game. (Sean Devers)
