The answer to sports enthusiasts’ queries and entertainment
Local sports pundits are constantly engaged in heated debates on sports personalities and outcomes of sport events and if there is anything that could be said of the Guyanese is that they are very knowledgeable in sport.
As such, sports pundits have always welcomed outlets to vent their feelings, be it on the performance of the regional cricket team or the rugby squad on another overseas engagement. It is with this in mind that, sports enthusiast and producer, Max Massiah, has decided to launch Maximum Sports-Combat and Strength, a one hour television programme geared to entertain and inform.
Apart from being a devoted sports enthusiast, Mr. Massiah holds a certificate in Television Production earned at the University of Guyana Centre for Communication Studies; he is also a certified Level one boxing coach. He has also been actively involved in bodybuilding and is knowledgeable in Martial Arts among other sports disciplines.
“The programme will focus heavily on combat and strength, judo, boxing, martial arts, power and weights lifting,” he disclosed.
The show will be aired on National Communication Network and is set to start this Friday, May 30 from 21:00hrs and already several sponsors have indicated an interest. As such, when the programme gets underway, Fitness Express, suppliers of nutrition, protein and exercise equipment, will be a regular feature. Another sponsor, Jermaine’s Enterprise of 93 Regent Street, which deals with bio-degradable products, will also be prominent.
Mr. Massiah is confident that the programme will fill a void for those local sports enthusiasts thirsty for knowledge in the various disciplines on the local and foreign scene. He is encouraging potential advertisers to partner with him as he endeavours to enhance the fortunes of local sports persons and by extension, the fraternity.
Mr. Massiah will be joined by popular broadcaster, Mark Watson along with several experts in the field under discussion. “This is an experience that Guyanese sports enthusiasts will not want to miss,” Mr. Massiah pronounced. Interested sponsors can contact Mr. Massiah on telephone # 609-8132.
