A fine half century by Yunnis Yusuf guided Phone Paradise to a nine-wicket victory over Superior Woods when the King’s
Jewellery Softball tournament continued recently at Thirst Park.
Yusuf slammed 65 not out and got support from Mahendra Arjune who made an unbeaten 35 as Phone Paradise successfully chased 114, ending on 117 in 10.1 overs. Randy Katwaroo led Superior Woods batting with a top score of 35. Rudolph Johnson captured 4-15 and Doodnauth Ramdeen 3-9.
Frontline overcame Superstar by seven wickets in their match up. Superstar batted first and scored 138-4 in 15 overs. S. Mohan stroked 69; T. Mars claimed 2-20. Frontline responded with 139-3 in 12 overs. Ramo Malone hammered 75 and K. Singh 46.
The competition continues tonight with Diamond Trading facing Stockfeeds, Omesh XI playing Hill Foot Loggers, Umrow doing battle with Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Brush Variety challenging Banks DIH and Speed Boat XI matching skills with the winner of game one.
