Two bandits were dragged out of their homes by police ranks yesterday, hours after they gun-butted an employee attached to the Humphrey’s Bakery located in Sussex Street, Charlestown and escaped with a substantial amount of cash.
The robbery occurred around 12:38 hrs in front of the bakery. Investigators were able to locate the men via surveillance footage recovered from the business place.
The men were identified by ranks by their nick names, “Scissors” and “King Buck.”
A police source said, “These men are known characters. When we looked at the video we knew exactly who we were looking for and where we had to go.”
According to reports received, the employee who was identified as Roxanne Isaacs was heading to the bakery in a car after leaving a city bank.
“When she stopped off in front here (the bakery), one of the men who was on the CG motorbike came off and hit her in her head. He grabbed the bag with money and jumped on the bike and they rode away,” a close relative of the proprietor said.
He further added that the video footage clearly indicated that the bandits were trailing the woman.
“When the car with the woman turned through Charles and onto Sussex Street, these men were at the back of her, so it seems as though they were following her,” the relative noted.
The men have both denied being a part of the robbery.
