All roads lead to the Malteenoes Sports Club ground tomorrow for the Guyana Blind Cricket Association’s organized Celebrity match, “Celebrities verses Blind and Visually Impaired cricketers” and fund raising Fish Fry from 12 noon.
The event is aimed at raising funds to send players to Jamaica for the 2014 Regional Blind Cricket tournament from July 17 -25 and tickets for fish and chips cost $1,000.00.
The Celebrity X1 will include Linden ‘Jumbe’ Jones, Roger Harper, PS in the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sport Alfred King, Luis Kumar and John Ramsingh from NCN, Adrian Smith & Neil Barry from Malteenoes, Calvin Roberts from GNNL, Sean Devers from Kaieteur News and former West Indies Blind Cricket Coach, Bharat Mangru.
Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and a Development team comprising seven Guyanese and seven players from the Windward Islands will compete in the tournament. The West Indies selectors will pick a Regional squad to travel to South Africa in September after participating in a training camp in Barbados.
