BCB/Berbice Chambers Independence T20 Cup 2014…
Sentinel Security joins a long list of sponsors as the lighting towers are mounted at the famous Albion Sports Complex for the BCB/BCC&DA Guyana’s Independence T20 Cup 2014 to be held on Sunday May 25, 2014. This edition promises to be the biggest ever, it will for the first time be played under international quality floodlights. There will be two semifinals with Berbice ‘A’ taking on Berbice ‘B’ from 11:00am followed three hours later by Georgetown Cricket Association taking on BK East Coast Jaguars.
The winners will battle in the final from 7:00pm under lights for bragging rights, trophies and cash incentives. Preceding the final will be a feature softball match between Oldenhoff Carriers and D’Edward of West Berbice. As usual, proceeds from this event will go to several charitable organizations, schools and cricket clubs.
The BCB and BCC&DA will share the balance equally to fulfill their respective mandates. This gala event will form part of the Region’s celebration for Independence and will surely boost local tourism in the County since many fans from Suriname are expected.
At a simple ceremony held recently, Mrs. Priya Rampersaud representing Mrs. Noreen Gaskin of Sentinel Security Inc handed the sponsorship cheque to Cosmatia Lindie. She said that her company is pleased to be part of this charitable event and was impressed with what they have seen over the years. She indicated that the company will always support sports, cricket in particular. She wished the youngsters well as they display their talent. Miss Lindie thanked Sentinel Security Inc for coming on board again and in such a big way and promised that the tournament will be pleasing to all.

The organisers recently learnt that two clubs affiliated with the Berbice Cricket Board, Albion and Port Mourant have withdrawn their players. A source from the BCB said that although the board is disappointed, they are not surprised.
