The birth of twin calves to an 11-year-old cow has brought a sense of pride to seasoned Essequibo cash crop farmer, Alvin Jones.
Jones, of Anna Regina now intends to take extra care of both his twin calves and their mother, for the next week by feeding the animal builders, which adds as a nutrient in enabling sufficient strength to the animals. The calves were born sometime Friday, at the back dam.
The farmer said that he received the news of his twin calves from a friend, who usually attends to the animal. At the time he was at the back dam. He said that he was surprised.
He explained that the cow was unassisted during birth but she is currently showing some signs of stress.
