As turfites gear up for the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) one day Pre-Independence horse race meet set for tomorrow at the Club’s Bush Lot Farm facility, the organizers have been forced to make a slight change to the programme.
A release from the KMTC informs that the race among the three year old has been cancelled and replaced by the J3 handicap event (those animals that have never won an event), over 6 furlongs and for a winner’s purse of $150,000 and trophy.
Otherwise the programme remains unchanged and the organizers have reiterated that the action will be sizzling. More than 60 horses have entered for the day’s meet and those jockeys will be competing for more than $4M in cash.
The feature event, the D1and Lower will be contested over one mile with the winning jockey riding off with the $500, 000 first prize and trophy. Then there is the G1 and Lower race over 6 furlongs that nets the winner $300,000 and a trophy while the race for the ‘I’ Class animals over 7 furlongs carries a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy. The event for J1 and Lower horses has a winning take of $200,000 and trophy and precedes the final event of the day, the J3 and lower for a winning purse of $150,000 and trophy.
Already, most of the top horses have registered for the event and turfites would be entertained by such animals as Treacle, Settle in Seattle, Fresh Again, Run Nana Run, Some Legend, Red and Lovely, It’s My turn, Stormy Flame, Damascus Dream, Quiet Strom, No Body Wants me, Gold Rush, Wild Grinder, Princess Page, Rosetta, Bridal Stone Corner, Super Bowl, Bunny Signs, Triple, Key for the Killer, Swift way, Nobre Import, Royal Cash, Little, Cat Messiah, Wild Grinder, Mary Ann, Funny Side, Famous Pride, Party Time, Prince Bayaya, Speed Vision, Windy Killer and De Gump among others.
The outstanding jockeys, trainers and stables will receive trophies and other prizes compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organizers. Race time is 13:00hrs.
