The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club will tomorrow host its 24th Annual Awards ceremony at the St. Francis Community Developers Training Centre where a total of 40 awards would be shared, including the prestigious male and female cricketer of the year.
National Under-19 player Akshay Homraj who has been named male cricketer of the year will receive a $500,000 prize package which includes a return ticket to the USA.
West Indies female all-rounder Shemaine Campbelle who is the current National female sportswoman of the year will receive the female cricketer and runner-up cricketer of the year awards while national player Rajiv Ivan would receive a $100,000 gold medallion for his benefit year.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster will present a comprehensive report of the club’s activities for the past year while President Keith Foster, among others will also deliver remarks. Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Bishop Juan Edghill is expected to deliver the feature address while the club during the ceremony would also be hosting the Scotiabank Tribute to Teachers, Berbice River Bridge Tribute to Retired Cricketers and Tribute to Heroes programmes.
Popular Radio Announcer Franklyn Langhorne and Major James Fraser would be honoured under the Tribute to Heroes programme.
