Universal DVD Young Warriors have lodged a protest with the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) on their loss to Police in the semi final of the 2013 Ramcharitar Construction Service 50 overs knock-out competition.
Police trounced Warriors by 55 runs at the Cumberland ground on Saturday last. Young Warriors are contending that Brentol Woolford who represented Police in the match, was a registered player with another Berbice first division club, Bush Lot United Rising Star and played for the last mentioned club in 2013, therefore should not have played for Police without being granted a transfer by the board.
The matter will be deliberated on at a meeting of the Competition’s Committee of the BCB on Sunday from 13:00hrs.
