The New Building Society (NBS) second-division 40-overs cricket competition continued recently with the highlight being Leonard Sandy of No. 64 Fighting Marines all-round performance.
Sandy slammed 74 (5×4 7×6), Emmanuel Davidson hit 50 to guide Fighting Marines to 203 in 22.2 overs against No.68 Turn Team. Sandy returned with the ball as opening bowler to snap up 4-26 to orchestrate Turn Team’s demise for 147 in 23.3 overs.
Off-spinner Steffon Adams grabbed 5-12 from 6 overs and leg-spinner Emerson Benjamin 2-14 from 6 overs as Hopetown United bowled out Bush Lot Challengers for just 61 in 20 overs. Hopetown went on to win by 9 wickets.
After Daneshwar Ramkissoon scored 57 (11×4) to lead D’Edward Warriors to 162 in 25.3 overs against Monedderlust, his teammates, pacer Joshua Hamid had 5-28 from 6 overs and off-spinner Narendra Iqbal 4-7 from 3.2 overs to skittle out No.5 for 56 in 12.2 overs.
