Seven lucky persons were beneficiaries when airline tickets were raffled on Wednesday for the three destinations offered by Insel Air at the local launching of the entity. Winners will have to register their tickets within six months, with
at least a year’s lifespan.
Wednesday’s launching at Duke Lodge, Kingston, saw speeches from Tourism Minister Irfaan Ali, who congratulated and welcomed the newcomer; the airline’s Sales Manager, Nicole Berenos; and Chief Executive Officer, Frederick Nuboer, along with Roraima Airways boss Gerry Gouveia, all of whom spoke on the benefits and prospects of the airline.
The executives promised intended customers superb service and giveaways when flying. They also reminded of the benefits of pre-immigration checks done in Aruba before entering the United States.
Additionally, the airline’s representatives were especially proud to lessen what they described as Guyana’s isolation to the rest of the world, as numerous connecting flights to several other destinations can be boarded in the mid-leg destinations.
With Insel Air’s inaugural flight less than a month away, tickets are on sale for an experience which the airline’s executives say is one above the rest. With some of the lowest fares entering the local aviation market at US$270 to US$345 round trips, to destinations such as Aruba, Curaçao or Miami, the Dutch -Caribbean airline is gearing to merge Guyana with the rest of the Caribbean and several international destinations including the United States, Canada and Europe.
Tickets are currently on sale at facilitating agency, Roraima Airways’ Travel Agency, Eping Avenue, Bel Air Park and other Georgetown travel agencies. Flights, which are expected to commence on June 19, will leave Guyana on Thursdays and Sundays and return Saturdays and Wednesdays, with direct flights connecting new destinations such as Aruba and Curaçao.
