Chairman of the Private Sector Commission, Ramesh Persaud signed the Book of Condolence yesterday at the Bank of Guyana in recognition of its Governor, Lawrence Williams who died on May 7 after battling cancer for some time. He was 59. 5
The Book of Condolence was opened on May 9, last at the Bank.
Williams was described as a disciplinarian and a man of competence. Persaud, after the signing, said that he was grateful for the contributions Williams made to Guyana’s financial sector. Persaud said that those contributions were also instrumental in paving the way for the Private Sector to flourish today.
