Dear Editor,
On Workers Day (May 01, 2014), as I was at the junction of Regent and Cummings Streets to witness those workers who were taking part in the May Day parade, I was handed a flyer produced by GAWU. I read it and felt that the points on local and international matters were aptly outlined. I decided to assist the few females who were sharing them.
Many workers and passers-by willingly accepted the flyers. However, the APNU people who were leading the unions of the TUC marchers surprised me. One female of APNU to whom I presented a pamphlet unceremoniously threw it back at me and uttered some expletives.
The leader of the APNU, on being presented with one said, “What GAWU? I don’t want to see the pamphlet.”
As a young Guyanese I heard about the PNC when it held political power. The question is what is in store for us if APNU (PNC) once again holds the reign of power in our dear Guyana?
