Yesterday was Mother’s Day but Ganga, de Minister who get into trouble wid li’l gyal, tek de opportunity to pretend to teach some of dem. De man was de guest speaker at de Arrival Day function at Mahaica. He greet everybody wid ‘Namaste’—that is a Hindi greeting.
Dem boys seh that when de man arrive, he get garland till he nearly choke. People decide that he was a real guest of honour till he put a li’l gyal fuh sit down pun he lap. This man deh in de front row and he got de gyal pun he lap although dem had chair next to he.
When people ask he wha happening, he tell dem how he preparing she fuh be a mother. And de gyal only smiling because he did get a wuk fuh she. Of course, de gyal tell she friends how he does give she a raise whenever he get one.
He is not de only one. Dem got two other people who like dem born to trouble li’l gyal. One of dem name call by three gyal who did get lock up. Dem claim how he does visit dem and sometimes he does carry dem away fuh he own fun. That is why dem boys seh that dem can understand why de government cut down pun de number of National Service centres. Too many centres would provide a problem fuh this man because he couldn’t move around fast enough.
Then dem got another one who specializing in young girls who does got to live at de shelter when dem come to town fuh go to school. When de bus come to pick dem up at school, three of dem does wait back.
Dem boys see this thing and dem ask wha happen. That is when de three young gyal tell dem how this big one in de Amerindian Affairs Ministry does send fuh dem when de bus gone. Dem gyal seh that de excuse is that dem got to clean out he office.
Now this is a Ministry that does get money from de budget to clean offices. Why this man got to get schoolgirls to clean he office after hours?
Dem boys seh that old ‘guana like young leaf, and Ganga and other government workers proving this to be true
