The latest matches of the 2014 New Building Society Second Division 40 overs cricket competition in Berbice were highlighted by some outstanding match winning bowling performances.
Offspinner Thameshwar Ramoutar of No.70 took 6 wickets for 5 runs in a spell of 3.2 overs to reduce No.71 B from 64 for 4 to 73 all out in 19.2 overs. NO.70 went on to win by 9 wickets.
Led by 76 (2 fours and 8 sixes) from Niazi Khan, No.70 M.Y.O did well to total 227 for 7 in 30 overs against No.69 Vikings which, however, was given good chase, being at one stage 155 for 4 in 17 overs before offspinner Jamel Assad stepped in and took 6 for 18 from 5.2 overs to restrict them to 188 in 37.2 overs.
After No.70 Young Star were bowled out for 158 by No.69 Red Rose, left arm spinner Omesh Kumar took 5 for 9 from 5 overs to see Red Rose bowled out for 47 in their reply.
Tain Block 4 were bowled out for 154 in 27.3 overs by Whim National but after that their medium pacer Mahendra Maynard proceeded to pick up 5 for 15 from 6 overs to help skittle out Whim for 34.
Guyana under 17 cricketer Brandon Prasad took 5 for 25 with his leg spin to help Rose Hall Town Bakewell defeat Guysuco Training Centre.
Also scoring half centuries were Devon Munroe of Kildonan and Vicky Parasram of Mibicuri Jaguars.

At No.69, No.70 Young Star beat No.69 Red Rose by 111 runs, No.70 Young Star 158 in 24.4 overs with Fiaz Narinedat 32, Persaud Chaitram 4 for 17, Azan Mohamed 2 for 24, Chetram Nourang 2 for 24. No.69 Red Rose 47 in 12.2 overs with Omesh Kumar 5 for 9, Thameshwar Kumar 3 for 20, Imran Khan 2 for 2.
At Tain, Tain Block Four beat Whim National by 120 runs, Tain Block Four 154 in 27.3 overs with Chinsammy Veerasammy 30, Mahendra Baldeo 28, Govindasammy Kishnasammy 28, Tulsie Charran 4 for 24, Haroon Thakurdeen 3 for 15. Whim National 34 in 13.2 overs with Mahendra Maynard 5 for 15, Nagebdra Persaud 2 for 9.
At Rose Hall Town, Rose Hall Town Bakewell beat Guysuco Training Centre by 82 runs. Rose Hall Town Bakewell 191 in 37.1 overs with Denzil Sinclair 39, Sundra Kissoonlall 31, Tyron Pooranauth 3 for 29, Sunil Latchman 3 for 25. Guysuco Training Centre 109 in 30 overs, Brandon Prasad 5 for 25, Simion Lawson 2 for 11, Kumar Jeet 2 for 14.
At Mibicuri, Kildonan beat Mibicuri Jaguars by 49 runs. Kildonan 190 in 27 overs with Devon Munroe 65, Akeem Anderson 30. Mibicuri Jaguars 141 in 21 overs with Vicky Parasram 58, Leslie Whyte 3 for 25, Aubrey Collins 2 for 15, Gary Drepaul 2 for 25.
At Crabwood Creek, Springlands beat Crabwood Creek by 10 wickets. Crabwood Creek 83 in 14 overs with Laljit Prahalad 31. Springlands 84 without loss with Trishan Ramdass 38 N.O
