The 2014 IAAF World Athletics Day Championships will be held tomorrow at the Police Sports Club, Eve Leary, commencing at 10:00 hours.
According to a release, there will be the Inter Schools Championships for athletes who are under 16 as at December 31, 2014 and those born in 1999, 2000, 2001)
Both Track and Field events for Boys & Girls including 80m; 150m; 1000m; 1500m/2000m Race Walk, while the Field events to be contested are: Long Jump; Shot; Discus, Javelin
Entry is free and each athlete must compete in two (2) events-one (1) Track & one (1) Field.
Awards will be made to athletes placing 1st; 2nd & 3rd in each event, while points will be awarded to athletes placing 1st to 6th in each event.
The IAAF Trophy will be awarded to the School gaining the most points.
Youth – (under 18 as at December 31, 2014; Born in 1997-1998)
Events – Boys: 100m; 800m; 3000m; LJ; Shot; Javelin; 3000m Race Walk
Girls: 100m; 400m; 1500m; LJ; Discus; Shot; 2000m Race Walk
Entry – entry is FREE. Each athlete will only be allowed to compete in one (1) event.
Awards – will be made to athletes placing 1st; 2nd & 3rd in each event.
