As part of Arrival Day activities, Hindus Unite for Guyana (HUG) officially released ‘Guyana’s Premier Hindu Magazine’ on Monday last at the Monument Gardens, Georgetown.
‘A Noble Journey’ is the name of the magazine and the #1/2014 issue features a full cover (back and front) spread of Hindu deity, Lord Vishnu.
According to a representative of HUG “We are happy to present the re-launch of our magazine, A Noble Journey. By God’s Grace and Guru’s Guidance, we present the 1st Volume of 2014.”
This magazine is produced by HUG for distribution in Guyana. It is printed by Inspire Inc.
Speaking on behalf of Inspire Inc, Ms. Amrita Mangal said, “We are pleased to be associated with this magazine and are honoured to have been asked to print it. We wish HUG every success.”
Ms. Dolly Lal-Singh of Land-of-Canaan said, “The Almighty blesses us with the ability to do good, and live according to the principles of Dharma. Congratulations to HUG on this beautiful publication.”
The Magazine is full-colour, glossy print with a number of features. It includes photos of some popular as well as unknown temples in Guyana.
In the centre-spread the magazine features the symbolism of the deity Lord Ganesh, while in another section there is a health article that features the benefits of the herb Methi (Fenugreek).
There are quite a number of children activities in the magazine – including a colouring exercise of the Gandhi statue in the Promenade Gardens, a Ramayan Crossword puzzle and a Hindu word find. The Magazine is for free distribution.
