Three bandits escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash at around 17.30 hrs yesterday, after holding the owner of Trans Pacific Motor Spares and several employees at gunpoint at the Good Hope, East Coast establishment.
Kaieteur News understands that the men, who arrived in a grey Toyota Allion, gained entry to the premises under the pretext of wanting to purchase a vehicle.
According to reports, the men ordered their victims into the building, where they assaulted the businessman before relieving him of some $2M. They then escaped. Sources said that the men discharged shots but no one was hurt.
Police appear to believe that individuals may have colluded with the bandits. Police are believed to have the licence number of the getaway car.
