Banks DIH Limited presented nine complete sets of electric lamps to the Mackenzie Sports Club to enhance the lighting at the sports facility in the Mining town.
The presentation took place yesterday, May 1st, at the MSC pavilion and was attended by Region Ten Chairman Sharma Solomon, Banks DIH Limited officials and executives of the MSC and the Upper Demerara Football Association.
Banks DIH Limited Communications Manager, Troy Peters said the floodlights were purchased after a request was made by the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) during the inaugural GT Beer Football tournament played at the MSC ground late last year.
“Banks DIH has fulfilled its promise as we continue to foster a closer relationship with the executive and members of the Mackenzie Sports Club and the people of Linden,” he added.
President of the MSC, Avery Trim expressed gratitude to Banks DIH for the kind gesture noting that the contribution was made possible through the intervention of the UDFA.
“This will go a far way to enhance the lighting at the MSC and all sports disciplines and the Linden community will benefit tremendously from the floodlights, he added.
Banks DIH Linden Branch Manager Shondell Easton made the presentation to Robert Langevine, Secretary of the MSC.
Also in attendance were Outdoor Events Manager Mortimer Stewart and football officials Collie Hercules, Clyde Brusche and Claude Williams.
