Youth Basketball Guyana- 2014 Elite Programme was convened last Friday and Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Thirty(36) of the country’s top junior male and female basketball players from Georgetown, Linden, Kwakwani, Berbice and the Coast, were invited to participate in 2 days of intense training/evaluation and other developmental activities organized and sponsored by YBG and its partners.
The Junior Elite Programme is a Basketball Development Training Programme for exceptional Student Athletes to enhance their game and self. The purpose of JEP is to develop and prepare the best junior basketball players for advancement in the game and for life, a release from the organisation stated.
The programme is headed by former senior national point guard Lugard Mohan, who is also a YBG Director. He is supported by a team of high school coaches including the veteran Kwakwani female coach Ann Gordon.
