Only the complete truth will resolve Rodney’s murder

DEAR EDITOR,
The extended Rodney family cannot anew and again simply be converted into convenient pariahs just because the PNC and WPA were not involved in drafting the terms of reference (Tors) of the Rodney Commission of Inquiry (RCOI). Such shameful conduct is most deplorable no less by who committed it.  Look who’s pointing conjoined fingers. Mr. Eusi Kwayana lumps the PPP/C government together: “Taking into account all that can be said about politics, I find the PPP’s political culture wanting in quality.”
Mr. Kwayana’s sanctimonious vilifications which publicly mock Dr Rodney’s widow Patricia as the Eve woman corrupting her husband  Adam (Rodney) for  sharing the forbidden apple (merger or whatever), gifted from the evil  (PPP/C) serpent is most deplorable.
His letter of the 30-3-14 in SN is full of it. One shudders with discomfort if implicit to Rodney, Adam and Jesus (RAJ) suffering eternal misfortunes, the trio of Judas, Eve and Patricia (JEP), are now guilty for all Guyana’s miseries according to the angry God; – you know who. What a difference it would have made if Dr Rodney had instead bitten a Buxton spice mango; he may still be alive to defend his better half?
As important to disproving that “Mohamed’s false propaganda cannot stand the test of careful scrutiny” as Mr. Tacuma Ogunseye wrote in the KN of 5-4-14, is the complete truth to resolve his murder. Mr.  Ogunseye has however “closed his case” with an excitable blast from his past responding to my letter of 3-4-14 in KN titled “Sincere remorse must of necessity be followed by sincere forgiveness”.
What keeps Guyanese in perpetual political mistrust is flying froth from some, not all, constantly fogging up our mental lens. So now wisdom’s company espies some plot afoot to paint Guyana’s “Dr. Walter Rodney as a (sic) conspirator against (sic) his party and the nation (which is interpreted to conclude) are carefully designed to set the tone of the Rodney Commission of Inquiry (RCOI)”!
The case only gets stronger for Federalism as another forever folly moves us along.
Candidness should first explain what entitlements justify any WPA ownership of Rodney’s legacy to charitably donate it to the PNC. For Hamlet (Shakespeare) to find his father unceremoniously murdered by his uncle then followed by his mother ‘marrying” him is most fascinating by what Rodney’s widow simply refuses to do.
Such compulsion to now blame Rodney’s widow and the entire extended family as exclusively responsible for Guyana’s “original sins” now becomes everybody’s business until this confounded nonsense stops.
Mr. Ogunseye has often displayed reverence for Dr Rodney, alive. He is candid enough to write that “the nation and the world for the first time (to him alone?) are being told that Rodney and Dr. Jagan had a
secret agreement for the WPA and the PPP to merge”.  Who is better placed to verify such information but Mr. Ogunseye himself even as by race, by mistrust and by entitlement his leader was killed.
Foreign US “imports” is just not necessary when  local “in house grown produce” touted by textbook economists, are so abundantly found most eager to do that job, this job, any such jobs where  experience and reputation counts. Need anyone be reminded that Dr Rodney selected his beloved brother Donald for the fatal trip only confirming the Guyanese leader’s astuteness about trust and caution?
Should no merger pact be confirmed at the RCOI, then all the sage’s horses and all the sage’s merry men would presumably rejoice atop the wall, in triumph. Dr Rodney’s legacy would be satisfactorily reclaimed as theirs, exclusively.  On the other hand, should the opposite be confirmed…?  It would not really matter, one way or the other.
Dr Rodney’s life has already been absolved by his genuine multiracial mission, debunking the odious suggestive propaganda introduced to dishonour him as “a conspirator against his party”. Rodney dead served them all better than he did alive. To witness him more empowered to march the WPA into merger with the PPP would have been unbearable.
“So Caesar may. Then, lest he may, prevent. And since the quarrel Will bear no color for the thing he is, Fashion it thus: that what he is, augmented, Would run to these and these extremities. And therefore think him as a serpent’s egg— Which, hatched, would as his kind grow mischievous— And kill him in the shell.” (Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar).
Obviously both the WPA and PNC wanted his “kind” out of the picture. Who in the WPA did Rodney need?  In fact Dr Rodney made them, WPA and all.
How validated is his entire legacy, unalterably bequeathed to all Guyanese, not owned by race or the WPA, is made most striking that “his” party’s skeletons were all completely rejected at democratic elections. Now this post script act of vilifying Rodney’s extended family has sunk to a new low after his brutal demise. It is exactly why national cohesion has been historically elusive.
What “golden eggs” Rodney had amassed is only what “his” WPA leftovers desperately crave. Let’s hope the long knives ease off on “Mother Goose”. With certainty, the treasury of Dr Rodney’s innermost thoughts is his widow Patricia, who was by his side every night, and also the faithful extended Rodney family members who were with him during those agonizing days.
Certainly Mr. Ogunseye must have recourse to seek the complete truth directly from his leader’s family. The cock has already crowed for those with inflated irrelevance and no honour? Now, should Mr. Ogunseye’s letter of 3-4-2014 be prompted in emulation and defence of Dr Rodney’s multi-racial ideals he should be commended. How correct is his entire analysis is another matter. My response is also not intended to nail him shut. So as not to test the Editor’s patience all Mr. Ogunseye’s queries cannot be addressed as per the usual.
