Host Everest Cricket Club Masters defeated Preysal Masters of Trinidad and Tobago by seven wickets in a T/20 fixture played on Sunday last.
Preysal mustered 101-8 off their allocation of 20 overs after they were inserted by Everest.
Rohan David fashioned 26 and Mathiew Alex scored 15 at the top of the order, but consistent bowling by the home team triggered a collapse which saw the visitors being reduced to 57-8. However an unbroken ninth wicket stand of 43 between Imraz Ali who scored 21 and Liton Ramdeen 20 saw them to their eventual total. Basil Persaud grabbed 2-7 and Rohan Sarjoo 2-27. In reply, Everest found themselves in some trouble at 23-3 before Rakesh Gangaram slammed four fours in a top score of 40 not out to guide his team to 102-3 in 17 overs. Ravindra Seeram supported with 32 with three fours while Rajendra Dilraj claimed 2-14.
