2014 Elizabeth Styles Under-19 50 overs cricket competition in Berbice…
The 2014 Elizabeth Styles under-19 50 overs cricket competition in Berbice continued recently with some more outstanding performances.
Berbice under-19 batsman Nick Ramsaroop blasted 128 (9 fours and 5 sixes), Avishkar Sewkarran 91 (8 fours) and Guyana under-17 all rounder Parmanand Ramdhan 67 (7 fours and 3 sixes) to spearhead their team, Blairmont Community Centre, to a daunting
351 for 8 in 45 overs against D’Edward, the highest score by a team in the competition so far. Ramsaroop and Sewkarran had put on 227 in just 30 overs for the opening stand.
When D’Edward replied they ran up against Berbice under-15 pacer Rameshwari Somwaru who took 5 for 6 from 6 overs and medium pacer Sewkarran who rounded off a fine all round performance with 5 for 12 from 7 overs as they were skittled out for a paltry 24.
Crabwood Creek Risings opening batsman Naresh Deo slammed 105 (3 fours and 9 sixes) to help his team post 185 in 30.2 overs against No.70 Young Star whose off spinner Thameshwar Kumar took 6 for 36. Deo’s effort however went in vain as Kumar slammed 71 (6 fours and 6 sixes) to steer Young Star to an easy 6 wickets win.
Clifton Lindee hit 97 (15 fours and 1 six) and Kwesi Mickle 60 (6 fours) to steer Police to 268 in 43.2 overs against Edinburgh. When Edinburgh replied Police off spinner Leon Andrews took 5 for 21 from 7 overs to help bowl them out for 139 in reply despite a fine 70 (11 fours and 1 six) from opening batsman Joseph Giddings.

At Crabwood Creek, No. 70 Young Star beat Crabwood Creek Risings by 6 wickets. Crabwood Creek Risings 185 in 30.2
overs with Naresh Deo 105, Thameshwar Kumar 6 for 33, Viendra Gooniah 2 for 39. No. 70 Young Star 190 for 4 in 29.4 overs with Thameshwar Kumar 71, Viendra Gooniah 31, Parmeshwar Chatterpaul 27, Delon Harvey 3 for 31.
At Edinburgh, Police beat Edinburgh by 129 runs. Police 268 in 43.2 overs with Clifton Lindee 97, Kwesi Mickle 60, Vijay Mangra 2 for 11, Clifford Welcome 2 for 30, Wally Latif 2 for 37, Joseph Giddings 2 for 52.
