Police pounced on a camp where illegal spirits were being manufactured, in a dense area at Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast over the weekend and destroyed the entire operations.
No one was apprehended but barrels of the illegal spirits (bush rum) were subsequently destroyed.
Police on a routine patrol found the camp at Golden Fleece and numerous drums of the illegal spirits in barrels.
No one was in that area at the time. In areas like Golden Fleece, bush rum is produced and sold to locals in wholesale and retail quantities.
