A former East Bank footballer who is now based in the United States, Shubert Bassoo on Sunday last donated six footballs and a ball bag to the East Bank Football Association.
Bassoo, formally of Craig village who was one of the persons who played an integral role in the formation of the Grove/Craig football team, said that he was impressed with the level of activity that is currently taking place in the EBFA thus the reason for the donation.
The items were handed over to EBFA President Wayne Francois on Sunday last during the Stag Beer division-one league action at the Grove Playfield.
Bassoo noted that he would continue to support the EBFA and would have also assisted the Grove Hi Tech FC in the past.
“I am really happy to see the teams are still being kept together at a competitive level and the fact that so many youngsters are involved. This little donation I hope will go a long way in assisting the continued development of the game.”
Francois extended gratitude on behalf of the EBFA to Bassoo for the kind gesture.
