Host Malvern Sports Club (MSC) went down to MT United (MTU) from Mon Repos in a best of three ten overs Tapeball cricket competition played at the West Demerara Market Tarmac recently.
In the opening game MSC won the toss and inserted MTU who made 94-6, with Haymant Singh scoring 28 and Narine Rampersaud 24. Bowling for the host Christopher Williams and Mark Smyth grabbed two wickets each.
MSC in reply were restricted to 87-9, Smyth made 23; Raghunauth Raghoo 3-11 and Alvin Persaud 3-12.
In the second encounter, MSC batted first and scored 80-8. Mark Smyth scored 37 and Sanjay Coonauth 15. Wasim Baljit picked up 4-6.
MTU responded with 84-7. Baljit led with 32 not out. Anthony Kwang snared 4 – 10.
