The 2nd annual Virgins Promotions ‘Champions of Champions’ softball cricket tournament quarterfinals, semis and finals are scheduled to take place on Easter Sunday, 20th of April beginning at 9:00am. The location is the scenic Golden Fleece and Perseverance beaches where the teams are expected to match blows.
The competition which started on the 6th April will conclude this weekend with four rounds of matches. The first round saw 18 male teams and four female teams from the Essequibo Coast participating.
Teams are competing for over three hundred thousand dollars with the first place male team carting away $150,000, second place $60,000, while the female winners will walk away with $40,000.
Several other prizes are arranged for teams such as free beverages, clothing and novelties.
The fixture this weekend will see Richmond Youths vs. Airy-Hall; Mainstay Aftershocks vs. R1, Die Hard vs Endeavor, Smith’s11vs.Adventure, while El Dorado has drawn the Bye.
Beverage giant, Banks DIH Ltd, is the main sponsor, along with Virgin Promotions.
