The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) continued its robust Teams Table Tennis League last weekend at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with Titans ‘A’, Blue Thunder ‘A’ and Malteenoes ‘A’ all recording ‘B’ Class victories at the ongoing event.
Titans ‘A’ team (Stefan Corlette and Alec Hopkinson) defeated Malteenoes Sports Club ‘B’ team (Kevon Corbin, Kevin Prass and Kristoff Sookhoo) 3-2. In the scores: Corlette defeated Corbin 17-15, 11-7, 11-8; Hopkinson defeated Prass 4-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-1; Sukhoo had a walkover; Hopkinson lost to Corbin 4-11, 15-13, 7-11, 11-6, 9-11 and Corlette defeated Prass 11-9, 12-10, 14-12.
Blue Thunder ‘A’ (Remy Taitt, Devon Richmond and Vernon Rodrigues) beat NP Electronics (Michael Vieira, Xen Goliah and Sammy Boodhoo) 3-2. In the scores: Taitt defeated Vieira 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7; Richmond lost to Goliah 12-14, 11-2, 11-9, 4-11, 11-13; Rodrigues defeated Boodhoo 11-5, 11-9, 18-16; Taitt lost to Goliah 2-11, 2-11, 11-6, 6-11 and Richmond defeated Vieira 11-7, 11-9, 4-11, 11-4.
Malteenoes Sports Club ‘A’ (Shemar Britton, Chelsea Edghill and Kyle Edghill) defeated Titans ‘A’ (Stefan Corlette and Alec Hopkinson) 3-1. In the scores: Britton lost to Corlette 11-3, 12-14, 10-12, 12-10, 6-11. Chelsea Edghill defeated Hopkinson 11-6, 11-9, 11-6; Kyle Edghill got a walk over and Chelsea Edghill defeated Corlette 11-7, 11-8, 12-10.
Table Tennis Academy ‘A’ (Elishaba Johnson, Sunil Logan and Warren Hackshaw) won against Bank of Guyana (Jody-Ann Blake, Carlyle Bowman and Imran Khan) 3-2. In the scores: Logan defeated Bowman 11-9, 11-9, 13-11; Hackshaw lost to Blake 9-11, 9-11, 11-9, 13-11, 6-11; Johnson defeated Khan 11-7, 11-3, 11-2; Logan lost to Blake 7-11, 11-9, 11-7, 5-11, 8-11 and Hackshaw defeated Bowman 3-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-3, 11-8.
NP Electronics defeated Bank of Guyana 3-0. In the scores: Vieira defeated Khan 11-1, 11-2, 11-5; Goliah defeated Blake 11-5, 12-14, 14-16 and Boodhoo defeated Bowman 11-4, 11-6, 14-16.
Table Tennis Academy ‘A’ defeated Malteenoes Sports Club ‘B’ (Kevon Corbin, Kevin Prass and Kristoff Sookhoo) 3-2. In the scores: Johnson defeated Prass 10-12, 11-8, 11-5, 11-3; Hackshaw lost to Corbin 4-11, 12-10, 11-4, 7-11, 7-11; Logan defeated Sukhoo 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-5 and Hackshaw defeated Prass 12-10, 11-9, 7-11, 11-9.
Meanwhile, in the ‘C’ Class Competition, Bank of Guyana ‘B’ (Carlyle Bowman, Claude Henry and Nicola James) defeated Table Tennis Academy ‘B’ (Terrence Rausch, Christopher Rausch and Kristie Lopes) 3-2. In the scores: Bowman defeated Christopher Rausch 11-3, 11-7, 11-7; Henry lost to Terrence Rausch 10-12, 5-11, 5-11; James lost to Lopes 7-11, 9-11, 11-8, 8-11; Bowman defeated Terrence Rausch 11-7, 9-11.11-8, 11-2 and Henry defeated Christopher Rausch 11-4, 11-3, 11-4.
