Yesterday saw another addition to the centenarian club as Irish Stewart-McAdams turned 100 years old.
Decked out in a pretty pink dress, the woman sat in the upper flat of her D’Urban Street, Georgetown residence, in front of two scrumptious looking cakes baked in her honour.
McAdams, who seems to still have all her wits about her, was not too eager to speak with reporters but was yesterday surrounded by relatives and friends who gathered to wish her well and celebrate the landmark achievement with her.
Growing up, the centenarian lived with her aunt and grandmother and attended the Charlestown Convent School.
McAdams, who is unable to walk, continues to practice the Catholic faith. She got married at an early age and spent most of her life working as a seamstress.
