The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the death of former Swiss House Cambio Managing Director Farouk Razac continued before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday and two new witnesses were called to testify on behalf of the state.
For a second time, Razac’s wife, Carol Ann Lynch, is charged with murdering him on May 7, 2007 at their Lot 106 Ireng Place, Bel Air Park, Georgetown residence.
The PI got underway Tuesday last in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and is scheduled to be called again tomorrow.
Yesterday, the Prosecution led by Corporal Bharat Mangru, attached to the chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) called retired Detective Inspector Sydney Charles and the couple’s neighbour David Faulkner to the stand.
Sergeant Lillian Scotland stationed at the Brickdam Police Station attached to the Criminal Investigations Division yesterday concluded her evidence in chief and the analyst report was tendered.
They were cross examined by Defence Attorney Peter Hugh. Hugh represents Lynch in association with Attorney at Law Latchmie Rahamat.
From the commencement last Tuesday to yesterday’s hearing, a total of thirteen persons have been called to testify on behalf of the State.
The PI is scheduled to continue today. A total of 21 witnesses are expected to testify on behalf of the state.
